Hace ya 16 años que salió Memorias de Idhún I: la Resistencia, un libro que arrasó entre los jóvenes dejando claro a todo el mundo que la literatura juvenil española movía a más público del que se pensaba.
16 años llevan los idhunitas (fans de la saga) esperando a que los personajes cobren vida y aparezcan en la pequeña o gran pantalla (el formato nos era indiferente). Netflix lo tenía tan fácil para sacar adelante el proyecto que aún nadie entiende cómo ha podido descarrilar en el último paso.
Laura Gallego siempre ha sido reacia a que sus obras se adaptasen por miedo a que no les hicieran justicia (y con razón), pero decidió confiar en Netflix y le salió el tiro por la culata, ahora sabemos que esta situación no se va a repetir y que ninguna otra historia tendrá su adaptación.
Con las palabras de la cuenta de la autora en Twitter, se daba por concluida la aventura de la resistencia y la relación de Netflix con la trilogía.
Y es que el público (y Laura Gallego) no aceptó que los actores vocales fueran actores sin experiencia previa (menos por Michelle Jenner y los personajes secundarios). La polémica se desató y algunos decidieron hablar, como Sergio Mur (voz de Kirtash) que defendió su trabajo y su derecho a hacer ese papel haciendo hincapié en que «nosotros hemos puesto las voces originales» en un tweet que publicaba tras el inicio de la polémica.
¿Quiere decir que un actor no puede trabajar como actor vocal? No, pero alguien primerizo necesita una buena dirección y muchas tomas hasta dar con la mejor.
Cuando ves la serie notas que el trabajo se ha hecho con prisas ya que Michelle luce la mitad de brillante en comparación con otros papeles como el de Hermione en Harry Potter.
Siempre he pensado que una película puede ser todo lo buena que quieras, pero que si el audio falla se vuelve un tanto insoportable o bien porque no escuchas los diálogos o porque la música está increíblemente alta; con los doblajes ocurre igual.
Puedes pasar por alto una animación básica como es el caso (aunque ya nunca sabremos si la dejaríamos pasar), pero no un trabajo de actores vocales casi hecho a prisas. La expresión en la voz es fundamental y cuando se carece de esto, el espectador no es capaz de conectar con los personajes ni con la historia. Cuando ves anime no entiendes el japonés, no obstante, sabes decir exactamente si están enfadados, tristes, contentos, etc., solo con escucharlos.
Por muy buen actor que seas, en el momento que quitan tu cara y solo escuchamos la voz, tienes que ser capaz de transmitir el estado de ánimo del personaje. Kirtash es alguien frío y distante y entiendo la intención de usar esa voz, pero no transmite nada cuando está con Victoria (personaje al que debe amar) y, en este caso, tampoco vemos ese amor en su expresión porque la animación, como he dicho antes, es básica.
En la voz de Jack, interpretada por Itzan Escamilla (Élite), vi muchas más intenciones a hacerlo bien que en otras. Quizás porque, desde mi punto de vista, Jack es un personaje que no exige tanto como Kirtash, menos complejo en ese sentido.
Un dato que no tiene que ver con el doblaje, pero que quiero comentar y señalar es ese momento tan esperado por todo fan: el concierto; la canción se quedó por completo en segundo plano, siendo un mero trámite para que la trama continuase.
No voy a engañar: tenía muchas ganas de la adaptación y soporté medianamente la primera temporada, pero la segunda se me hizo pesada y no es porque la historia sea mala (devoré los libros en su tiempo) sino porque no conectaba con los personajes, sus problemas me eran indiferentes y las revelaciones que debían ser importantes se daban como si estuvieran hablando del tiempo.
Un mal doblaje, un mal trabajo como actor vocal pueden acabar con una historia interesante y en su afán por llamar a más público Netflix acabó deshonrando una saga a la que mucha gente le tiene un cariño especial y recuerda con nostalgia.
